Irish Athletes Set Sights on European Glory! 
Two of our incredible athletes, Elisha Gallagher and Liam Foley, are training hard for the 8th IAADS Open European Athletic Championships in Prague this July!
These talented competitors proudly represented Ireland at the 2023 European Championships in Italy — and they’re ready to do it again 
Elisha Gallagher, a Leaving Cert Applied student, trains with Metro St. Brigid’s AC and competes in both mainstream athletics and Special Olympics. After standout sprint performances in Padua, she’s currently ranked: 
30th in the 200m 50th in the 100m
in the IAADS World Rankings (T21).
Liam Foley of Trim AC is a distance-running dynamo! A double European gold medalist in the 800m and 1500m, Liam also smashed the European 800m record in 2023 — and followed it up with world gold at the Trisome Games in Turkey 2024!
Participation is entirely self-funded, with amazing support from the Louth/Meath Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland.
