Our Louth Meath Branch’s Stay Up All Night Book Club had a truly special day out recently, as we were honoured to attend the KPMG Children and Young People’s National Book Awards Ceremony in Merrion Square, Dublin.
We are proud to share that our Book Club received a Book Club Merit Award – and each of our members was presented with a €50 voucher in recognition of their enthusiasm and dedication.
As part of the celebration, the group was also interviewed by RTÉ Junior Radio – keep an ear out for our broadcast airing next Monday morning!
The day was filled with excitement as members got to meet national award-winning fiction authors, followed by a lovely food reception. We were delighted to have Sinéad Flynn from the Adult Education Department of Down Syndrome Ireland join us for the occasion.
A big thank you to Meath County Library, who generously arranged our return journey home in a mini-bus – and a special shout-out to the two Geraldines from the library staff, whose dedication and support over the past two years have helped this Book Club flourish.
