We are delighted to announce that our branch will be hosting Sibling Support Workshops (Sibshops) on Sunday, 19th October 2025, from 2.00 – 4.30 pm at Athboy Community Centre.
The workshops will be led by Liz Fitzpatrick and Linda Foley, both nurses with extensive experience working with children with intellectual disabilities. As qualified Sibshop Facilitators, Liz and Linda create afternoons filled with fun, laughter, and connection for siblings of children with special needs.
Sibshops give siblings the chance to:
- Enjoy fun activities together
- Share experiences and feelings in a supportive space
- Talk about the challenges and positives of having a sibling with special needs
Who can attend?
- Siblings aged 7–13 of our members
- The child with Down Syndrome should be over 2.5 years old, so siblings can understand and relate to their brother or sister’s needs
Cost
These workshops are free of charge to our members.
How to register
To confirm attendance, please email info@louthmeath.downsyndrome.ie or text Brendan on 083 8972044.
We look forward to welcoming siblings for an afternoon of fun, friendship, and support!
